n this article I will discuss some basic techniques to build a closer bond of trust with your pet bird or parrot. This is the first step on the training ladder:-) We will discuss building a 'bridge' or 'marker' association with your bird. One of the most useful tools in positive reinforcement training. This is an ideal way to start the training process whether your bird is cuddly tame, excitable, frightened or nervous. Training is such an important part of captive bird and parrot welfare that it should be considered mandatory. These birds are very intelligent and require a lot of mental stimulation and you're the one to give it to them! This in turn will help develop a very close relationship between you and your bird forming a bond that will last a lifetime.
